Du 12 septembre 1721. - Sur la prohibition des foires d'étoffes en Limousin, le tout dans le contexte des mesures prophylactiques liées à l'épidémie de peste de 1720 (sont exceptées de la mesure les foires aux bestiaux).Jacques, premier duc de Fitz-James (1670-1734) était alors gouverneur du Haut- et Bas-Limousin, ainsi que commandant en chef des provinces de Guyenne, Béarn, Navarre, Limousin, Auvergne, Bourbonnais, Forez, pays de Foix, Roussillon et d’une partie du Vivarais. Une de ses missions les plus urgentes fut justement de préserver ces provinces de la peste qui sévisait encore en Provence. Nocret's 'Royal Family in Olympus', completed in 1670, was commissioned by Louis XIV's brother, Monsieur Philippe, Duke of Orleans, as part of a larger decoration scheme for his Château at Saint-Cloud. Nocret was a history painter and portraitist whose other projects for the Royal Family included the decoration of the Queen's apartments at the Tuileries with Charles Le Brun. Looking at Nocret's life between Lorraine, Rome, Lisbon and Paris, the present monograph also contains a complete catalogue of Nocret's known works, listing over 50 paintings and drawings.
