‎Prêtre jésuite hongrois, Jean Nadasi (1614-1679) enseigna à Trnava puis fut appelé à Rome comme directeur spirituel des étudiants de la Compagnie de Jésus au "Collegium germanicum et hungaricum". De 1652 à 1670, il fut le secrétaire de langue allemand du Supérieur général Goswin Nickel puis de Giovanni Paolo Oliva. Il retourne ensuite dans l'empire Austro-Hongrois, où il fut notamment le confesseur de l'impératrice Eléonore. Ecrivain ascétique connu et traduit, il reste connu pour ses travaux hagiographiques. Cet ouvrage constitue son dernier travail d'envergure dans ce domaine. Hungarian Jesuit priest, John Nadasi (1614-1679) taught in Trnava then was called to Rome as spiritual director of the students of the Society of Jesus at the "Collegium germanicum et hungaricum". From 1652 to 1670, he was the German-speaking secretary of Superior General Goswin Nickel and then of Giovanni Paolo Oliva. He then returned to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where he was notably the confessor of the Empress Eleanor. A well-known and translated ascetic writer, he remains known for his hagiographic works. This work constitutes his last major work in this field.
