Very good copy (as new). We join a letter by Shinji Takahashi, with a small photographic portrait, and the record written by a French physician (Prof. Joseph Duhamel.) Prof. Takahashi (Professor at the Nagoya University School of Medicine), was a world class specialist in radiography. In this book, Prof. Takahshi described in detail the principle of producing a cross-sectional image based on the reconstruction from a sinogram (called “rotatogram” or “rotation radiogram”). This book shows that Prof. Takahashi had understood the principles of present-day "computed tomography" (CT), long before its official development in the early 70s (by Godfrey Hounsfield, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for this invention)
