Interessante raccolta di due opere sulla storia di Venezia. La prima è l'edizione del 1592 della celebre opera "De magistratibus et Republica Venetorum" di Gaspare Contarini (1483-1542) nobile veneto, tra le più antiche e illustri della Repubblica. L'autore descrive con precisione le istituzioni della Repubblica a lettori non veneziani. La sua opera diffuse il mito di Venezia in tutta Europa. La seconda è l'edizione del 1608 dell'opera sulla storia di Venezia di Bernardo Giustiniano cavaliere e procuratore di San Marco, un importante figura nella società e politica veneziana. L'opera descrive la storia di Venezia dalla fondazione fino al 400. Traduzione a cura dell'umanista, traduttore, editore poligrafo ed erudito piacentino Lodovico Domenichi (1515-1564). In buone condizioni e completo. Copertina in piena pelle con titolo in oro al dorso in buone condizioni con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. La copertina è stata restaurata. Legatura in buone condizioni. Pagine in buone condizioni con fioriture. Piccola galleria di tarlo dalla carta 505 dell'ultima opera fino alla fine. In 16 cm 15,5x10,5. Pp. (24)+156, (32)+519+(28). Interesting collection of two works about the history of Venice. The first one is the edition of 1592 of the famous work "De magistratibus et Republica Venetorum" by Gaspare Contarini (1483-1542) venetian nobleman, the most ancient and illustrious figures of Republic. The author describes in a careful way the Institutions of Republic to non venetian readers. His work spreaded the myth of Venice in the whole Europe. The second one is the edition of 1608 of the work about the history of Venice by Bernardo Giustiniano knight and lawyer of San Marco, an important figure in venetian society and politics. The work describes the history of Venice from its establishment until 1400. Translation by the humanist, translator, editor polygrapher and scholar from Piacenza Lodovico Domenichi (1515-1564). In good conditions and complete. Full leather cover with gilted title in the spine in good conditions lightly worn in the extremities. the cover has been restored. Binding in good conditions. Pages in good conditins with foxing. Little worming from page 505 of the last work until the end. In 16 cm 15,5x10,5. Pp. (24)+156, (32)+519+(28).
