Rare ouvrage sur un sujet rare (La Bibliographie de Madagascar de Grandidier, II,6371, signale seulement un autre titre de cet auteur sur le même sujet).|1°Réforme du régime pénitentiaire en France. 2°Système pénitentiaire de la Grande-Bretagne. 3°De la colonisation pénitentiaire. 4°Colonisation de Madagascar (p.237 à la fin).|Barbaroux Charles-Oger, magistrat et littérateur, fils du conventionnel, né à Marseille en 1792. Il fut d'abord avocat à Nîmes, concourut à diverses publications, remplit, après 1830, les fonctions de procureur général à Pondichéry, puis à l'île Bourbon, enfin à Alger en 1848. A cette époque il fut élu représentant à la Constituante par l'île de la Réunion... Il est mort à Vaux en 1867. (Larousse XIX°). Colonisation de Madagascar.
