‎1870 551 p., 15 lithographed plates, contemporary half calf with marbled boards (the two labels on spine missing). Some scattered foxing but mostly in first few pages and endpapers, some plates also somewhat foxed. Rare third volume of this journal, which later was renamed: Transactions of the Natural History Society of Northumberland, Durham, and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Topics are: fossil amphibians, fossil fishes, fossil reptiles and fishes, terraced slopes, Crustacea (Janassa, Entomostraca), meteorology, etc. Most plates depict fossil vertebrates and Crustaceans.‎

‎Collection of 13 papers on fossil fishes, amphibians and reptiles mainly found in the Northumberland and other local coal shales and fields and all published in the Natural History Transactions of Northumberland and Durham.‎

‎1869-1889 With 21 (5 double-page) lithographed plates. Most papers unopened and disbound (partly loose).Includes: 1) Notes on various species of Ctenodus from the Northumberland Coal Field. 2) Notes on the remains of some reptiles and fishes from the Northumberland Coal Field (3 pls). 3) Note on an undescribed fossil fish from the Newsham Coal Shale. 4) On the occurrence of Loxomma allmanni in the Northumberland Coal Field. 5) Description of a Labyrinthodont Amphibian, a new Generic form, obtained at Newsham (1 plate). 6) Description of a considerable portion of a mandibular ramus of Anthracosaurus russelli, with notes on Loxomma and Archichthys (1 plate). 7) A few remarks on Dipterus and Ctenodus, and on their relationship to Ceratodus forsteri (2 pls). 8) Descriptive notes on a specimen of Pleurodus rankinii, on two new species of Platysomus, and a new Amphicentrum, with remarks on a few other fish remains (2 pls). 9) On the Skull and other bones of Loxomma allmanni from the Low Main, Newsham (4 pls). 10) On the articular bone and supposed vomerine teeth of Ctenodus obliquus, and on Palaeniscus hanckocki n.sp. from the Low Main, Newsham (1 plate). 11) On Anthracosaurus russelli (4 pls). 12) On Pteroplax cornuta (2 pls). 13) On a spinal column of Loxomma allmanni (1 plate).‎

‎1874 xxv, 174 p., 13 pls, frontispiece, paperbound. Unopened copy. Part of library stamp on upper end front cover. The well executed and artistic plates were drawn by Hancock himself, the last one being that of the Great Auk. Published in: Natural History Transactions of Northumberland and Durham. ‎

[283 x 220 x 70 mm]. 76pp; 76pp; 76pp. Bicknell, The Picturesque Scenery of the Lake District, 112. The engraved title in vol.1 is dated 1832, and the plates are dated 1832-35. This work was originally published in 26 parts, as parts 10-35 of the Fourth Series of Fisher's Picturesque Illustrations of Great Britain and Ireland. The plates are guarded with the original tissues, and half are lightly foxed or browned. Almost every aspect of Lake District scenery was covered, including views from fairly remote spots high in the fells. Allom in particular, "fearless of danger, patient of fatigue", was indefatigable in collecting views. ‎
