‎This publication presents a new perspective on Jacopo Bassano (c. 1515-1592) and the remarkable success of his workshop. Bassano, although widely appreciated in his lifetime, was later overshadowed by the immense fame of the Venetian masters Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese. Located outside the artistic center of Venice, Jacopo Bassano and his sons were able to produce masterpieces of outstanding quality. They achieved widespread popularity in a variety of genres including biblical-pastoral paintings, portraits, and altarpieces. The purpose of this book is to present a fresh insight into the innovative, artistic practices of Jacopo Bassano and his workshop. The volume consists of insightful essays by specialists on Jacopo Bassano, including Luisa Attardi, Alessandro Ballarin, Claudia Caramanna, and Kirsi Eskelinen. Special attention is given to Jacopo Bassano's career in his native town Bassano and his strategies for expanding the activities of his workshop in Venice. Furthermore, the articles highlight his relationship to nature and the Venetian countryside and his pioneering work in depicting the changing light during different times of the day. Through interdisciplinary research on two paintings in the collection of the Sinebrychoff Art Museum, Finnish National Gallery, the book offers a deeper understanding of Jacopo Bassano's working methods and painterly techniques. ‎Lettre autographe signée de Bassano, écrite au nom de l’ Impératrice Eugénie de Montijo.‎

‎ Lettre signée "Le Grand Chambellan Duc de Bassano", datée du 24 juillet 1879, à M. Le Charpentier ( Saint-Maixent). 1 page in-4° sur papier de deuil, à l’entête de Camden Place, Chislehusrt ( enveloppe jointe). La lettre fut postée de France ( cachet de Paris). L’impératrice a reçu l’adresse signée des habitants de Saint-Maixent, (condoléances présentées à la suite de la mort du Prince Impérial), le duc répond en son nom“ Je suis chargé par sa Majesté de vous adresser des remerciements pour les sentiments que vous lui exprimez dans son immense affliction…“.‎

‎ Le Duc de Bassano, est le 2ème de ce titre, crée en 1809 par Napoléon pour son père. Le Prince Impérial s'était engagé dans l'armée anglaise pour combattre en Afrique du Sud, c'est là qu'il meurt le 1er juin 1879. ( Provenance Collection du Duc de Cadore).( GrM Cl2) ‎
