‎Impressionnant album souvenir unique du Jubilé de la Reine Victoria, composé par Ernesta Stern (1854-1926) alias "Maria Star", écrivain fameuse pour son salon du Faubourg Saint-Honoré où elle accueillit notamment Marinetti ou Marcel Proust. Née Maria Ernesta Hierschel de Minerbi, elle épousa le banquier Louis Stern. Etat très satisfaisant (frottements et rousseurs, plusieurs feuillets débrochés). Impressive unique souvenir album of Queen Victoria's Jubilee, composed by Ernesta Stern (1854-1926) alias "Maria Star", famous writer for her salon in Faubourg Saint-Honoré where she notably welcomed Marinetti or Marcel Proust. Born Maria Ernesta Hierschel de Minerbi, she married the banker Louis Stern (binding rubbed, some foxing, several unstitched leaves).‎

Composed & Arranged, with an Accompaniment for the Piano Forte [parties 1, 2, 3]. London, The Royal Harmonic Institution Argyll Rooms, 1826. In-folio, 197p, pages de titres intermédiaires non comprises. Première édition de cet opéra, ici dans un arrangement pour piano. Créé le 12 avril 1826 au Covent Garden, cet opéra eut un grand succès. Meyer meurt en n'ayant qu'aperçu ce succès, le 5 juin 1826, alors qu'il écrivait une adaptation allemande. Demi-basane d'époque, dos lisse, faux nerfs avec les dorures, tranches mouchetées. Cartons des plats usés en bordure, frottements à la reliure, pages parfois légèrement brunies avec l'encre, petite mouillure marginale sur les 5 derniers feuillets. Peu commun. ‎

The Duenna was the third comedy by Sheridan performed at Covent Garden in 1775, preceded by The Rivals and St. Patrick's Day. With music by his father-in-law ; Thomas Linley, the """"comic opera '' The Duenna was represented at Covent Garden on 21 Nov. 1775 and on seventy-four other nights during the season, a success which was then unprecedented"""" (DNB). Complete vocal score with accompaniment of one instrument. First edition. Bound in at the end; Overture to the nunnery as a lesson for the harpsichord or piano-forte ; engraved catalogue page + pp 2 - 8 with the score, last leaf has been mounted and with some damage."‎
