Small round ex libris on front paste-down.A good and sound copy of this great classic of 19 century European shell books, here in the much scarcer larger format (18 x 26,5 cm, only 15 x 23 in uncoloured copy version) with beautifully hand-coloured plates. The 64 plates in volume I depict living shells, the remainder of the plates were published in volume 4.
