1899 viii, 248 p., map, 31 photographic and lithographed plates (5 coloured), roy. 4to (25,5 x 31 cm), publisher’s half cloth with author/title on spine and front cover. Important contribution to the fresh water molluscs of Celebes (Sulawesi), Indonesia with the descriptions and illustrations of many new genera and species. The bluish photographic plates made by the author’s depict the shells, and the litographed plates (drawn by the Sarasins) depict radula, opercula and some anatomy. Loosely inserted is the (8 page) advertisment of the work by Kreidl’s Verlag extensively promoting Sarasin’s works and those by Kobelt. The present work was sold at the time for 60 Mark. A very good, clean copy of this rare work.From the Library of Richard I.
