Small stamp of Herbert Ant on front cover and first page, margins somewhat trimmed, otherwise a good copy of this well-illustrated work.

Stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the title-page.Jules René Bourguignat’s well-illustrated contribution to a work edited by Belgrand, which also deals with quaternary vertebrates and human stone-age artefacts. The three plates depict land and freshwater species, many of which are described as new.
