The whole ant-section, with many new species, from this highly esteemed series of zoological contributions to the unique fauna of Madagascar. Each part was written by a specialist, in this case the Swiss entomologist and psychiatrist Auguste [Henri] Forel (1848-1931). The complete text and plates. Spotting and soiling to pages 5-12 and 229-236. A few pages with a faint waterstain in outer corner. Plate 4 with some slight foxing. Rare. Nissen ZBI, 3602.‎

‎1891 v, 280 p., 7 tinted lithographed plates, large 4to, modern orange cloth with gilt title on spine. The vast majority of the ant species are described here for the first time. The plates are very detailed. A rather nice copy with broad margins. Plates with a faint waterstain in the right corner (only affecting one figure in first two plates), some foxing and soiling in the first 20 and last few pages, otherwise good. Rare. Cat. BM(NH) p. 593.‎
