Rotterdam, H.A. Kramer, 1848. iv, 85, [iii] pp. Small 8vo (12,5 x 19,5 cm.). Original printed limp boards (partly slightly stained; spine strip gone), uncut. With 57 woodcut figures in the text.
First edition. Kloete Nortier, a pupil of Miquel and Apr. J.E. de Vrij, was a very prommising pharmacist at Rotterdam. Unfortunately, his early death prevented a great scientific career. Through the publication of his commentaries on the Ph. Neerlandica he got involved in a polemic with G.J. Mulder. A second edition was published in 1865. See Stoeder p 361 & 401; Bierman, p. 159 & 183; Wittop Koning, Compendium, p. 232 & 270. Copy with the signature of two former owners (L.S. Gaaikema & L.A. Feitema).
