The spine is blank as issued. The gilt work on the top cover - featuring the author, title, publisher, and a distinctive diagram of a spherical projection - remains bright and crisp. Very slight foxing, which is more pronounced on the endpapers only. The presence of only very slight foxing, which is more pronounced strictly on the endpapers, is exceptional for a technical manual intended for practical use at sea.
