Les renseignements qu’on possède sur Memling sont très laconiques. On sait maintenant avec certitude qu’il est né à Seligenstadt, dans le pays de Hesse, à une date inconnue, sans doute vers 1430. Il dut recevoir la première formation à Cologne, dont il reproduira avec précision les monuments dans les fonds de paysage de la Châsse de sainte Ursule. Bon état d’occasion
