Cet ouvrage est agrémentée de 3 dessins en deux couleurs ainsi que de nombreuses photos. Georges Lecomte (Mâcon 1867 - Paris 1958) est un romancier et auteur dramatique français, auteur également d'études littéraires, historiques et artistiques. Il retrace dans cet ouvrage l'histoire de l'imprimerie Crété de sa création à 1929. L'imprimerie Crété est aujourd'hui une véritable institution dans la ville de Corbeil-Essonnes. Elle fut la première imprimerie a s'être installé dans la ville en 1974, elle ne prit le nom de Crété que lorsque Louis-Simon Crété l'a racheta en 1827. Pendant la première période du XXé siècle, l'entreprise a travaillé pour de grands titres nationaux (Paris-Match, ELLE, Art et décoration, Télé 7 jours,...). En 1980, l'entreprise change son nom, Crété-Néogravure, pour Périodic Brochage puis en 1998, elle deviendra une filiale du groupe Hachette et sera rebaptisé Hélio Corbeil. En mars de cette année, Quebecor World, le numéro un mondial de l'impression, l'a rachète au groupe Hachette. Griffures sur la couverture, manques de papiers.

Summary The volume presents the immured glazed vessels (the bacini) located on the fa ades of numerous churches in the regional unit of Chania. It comprises the first part of a larger project which will gather similar data from the other regions of Crete. The research was undertaken in the framework of the research programme "Immured vessels in Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches in Greece: an electronic corpus". This study highlights an unexplored aspect of the material culture of Crete during the Venetian and Ottoman periods, offering further information about the history of the area and its contacts with other regions from the 13th to the 20th centuries. It also explores facets of this practice surviving into modern times. The ceramics involved here are primarily connected with the monument they adorn, but also touch on the people of western Crete themselves: apart from the detailed archaeological documentation, aspects of ceramic diffusion and immuration practice are unfolded. The text is made up of a detailed catalogue, a map, sketches, drawings and numerous photographs. Although the practice of immuration is also encountered in other regions of the Mediterranean, through the systematic study and the full presentation of the material from the region of Chania, its special diffusion in Crete is highlighted.
