One of the editions published in the year 1763 when the text was published for the first time. This is the rare 4to edition. Page 2 contains the Tableau de répartition de deux millions personnes. 'This tract, proposing a single tax, graduated in twenty groups of 100.000 taxpayers each, was the anonymous work of a young official. As it was allowed to circulate, the Physiocrats, who had been cowed into silence by the imprisonment of Mirabeau for producing his Théorie de l'impôt, (1760), concluded that they might now renew their activities' (Higgs).Second work: Cf.
