Arrêtent que le citoyen Bertrand, maire, et les citoyens Vincent Noel, Claude Gravier, Pierre Chazot, Jean Richard, Gilbert Roch, Louis Dubois, Charles Turin, Carteron, Bourchenu, Milou, et Etienne Boyet, officiers municipaux, reprendront à l'instant les fonctions auxquelles ils avoient été arrachés par les contre-révolutionnaires qui ont opprimé pendant trop long-tems les bons citoyens dans la ville de Lyon.‎

At bottom printed "Signé: Delaporte, Couthon, Maignet, Bassal, Raynaud."Bertrand and the others named in the document, are re-instated in their former positions from which they had been ousted by 'counter-revolutionaries' and are ordered to form a provisional Corps Municipal. Bertrand would later participate in the Babeuf conspiracy and was condemned to death in 1796.On 29 May 1793 Lyonnais moderates took over the city and although proclaiming their devotion to the Republic, Lyon in fact entered into rebellion against the National Convention. When the entire southeast of Lyon rose and Jacobins were massacred in the city itself, the city appeared to be the seat of a new royalist conspiracy. The armed forces of the Convention encircled the city in July which fell in October. The punishment was pitiless: on 12 October the Convention proclaimed: 'Lyon made war on liberty; Lyon is no more.' The city was to be destroyed and a new city established under the name Commune-Affranchi. ‎
