Hilde Metz experiments, investigates derived techniques, with the endless possibilities of textiles, now and then in the combination with other materials or shoes creations. Innovative, contemporary materials are to be explored, with their specific qualities they already possess as a starting point in her creative process.Since the mid-seventies, Hilde works with the medium textiles as the guiding principle to spatial integration, on the wall or as an independent element.? - She taught for many years in the Academy of Fine Arts and develops throughout her personal life and artistic career assignments for public and private architectural integration. She takes part in thematic exhibitions at home and abroad internationally and has own gallery for Contemporary Applied Arts in the historic city center of Antwerp. ? Sinds midden van de jaren zeventig bezig met textiel bedoeld als ruimtelijke integratie aan de wand of als zelfstandig element. Experimenteren met de mogelijkheden van textiel, vernieuwende hedendaagse materialen uitdiepen vertrekkend vanuit de specifieke eigenschappen. Afwijkende technieken onderzoeken. Ordenen en vooral reduceren tot heldere eenvoudige vormen. Een subtiele symbiose opbouwen door mathematisch ritme. Door kleurgebruik een sfeer bepalen.Een dialoog tussen structuur en ritme bereiken waarbij het repetitieve getransponeerd wordt tot een eigen vormentaal. Opdrachten in openbare gebouwen en particulier bezit. Tentoonstellingen in binnen-en buitenland.

Le present catalogue des manuscrits notes conserves dans les Regions d?Alsace, de Franche-Comte et de Lorraine fait suite au Catalogue des manuscrits notes de la Bibliotheque municipale de Colmar (2006). Il est concu comme un outil d?investigation et de travail au service des historiens, liturgistes, philologues, musicologues et historiens de l?art du domaine medieval. Les quelques 170 livres notes et la cinquantaine de fragments decrits et analyses dans ce volume composent un vaste ensemble sur le fond duquel se detachent les vestiges de l?histoire de la liturgie de la cathedrale de Metz et de quelques abbayes de ce diocese ; la prestigieuse collection de livres liturgiques a l?usage de l?abbaye Saint-Vanne de Verdun et d?autres etablissements religieux de la ville ; quelques temoins epars des abbayes vosgiennes ; les collections franciscaines d?Epinal et de Nancy, enfin un ensemble de livres representatif de la liturgie des dioceses de Besancon et de Strasbourg. Une introduction presentant sommairement les fonds, leur histoire et leurs particularites, eclaire le cadre historique dans lequel ces manuscrits ont vu le jour ou ont ete utilises. Boissard's Emblematum liber (1588) is one of the most complex and fascinating we possess: it comprises 42 emblems, each occupying an opening, with a quatrain in Latin by Boissard, a sonnet in French by Pierre Joly, and sophisticated engravings, many of them including more text, much of it in Greek. It is a daunting work but one which amply repays study and attention. Two particularly interesting features are 1) the autograph manuscript at the Bibliotheque de l'Institut in Paris which, as well as giving Boissard's own pictura, almost certainly used by the engraver, contains a prose commentary in French, and 2) the Brussels copy of the 1588 edition, a presentation copy to Louis Malarmey, which has Greek citations of relevance to our understanding of the emblems added, again in Boissard's own hand. I would need to refer to these regularly. The edition includes a critical introduction, situating the work, and a substantial critical apparatus. Languages : English, Latin, French.
