Die zuvor in Zeitschriften oder Almanach erschienen, teilweise auf Französisch gedruckten Berichte sind u.a. verfasst von u.a.: Franz Ludwig Pfyffer, Karl Viktor von Bonstetten, Heinrich Meister, J.S. Wyttenbach, Ph. S. Bridel und Johann Heinrich von Orell. Titel und erstes Textblatt einwenig gebräunt und stockfleckig.First edition, complete in two volumes. Published anonymously, these accounts of travels in various regons of Switzerland, were published by a German writer and former secretary to Lavater, Johann Michael Armbruster (1761-1814) and the St. Gall painter & publicist and politician Georg Leonhard Hartmann (1764-1828). The twenty-one accounts had first been published in various periodicals and partly in the French language, here translated in German, and were published here for the first time in book form. First leaves slightly browned and foxed, else a very well-preserved copy in contemporary boards.
