London, Bickers and Son, 1878, in-folio, XIV (front., title, table of contents and illustr., introduction) + 487 p. with 418 wood engravings, light spotting in the beginning else a clean copy without stains, full contemporary morocco; spine with raised bands richly gilt, title in red calf lettering piece; both covers richly gilt; gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Some use to foot of spine and corners, in all a fine ‘heavy’ copy. (Binding signed ‘Bickers & Son London’).
