The author, a wellknown alpinist (re: Recollections of an old Mountaineer) contributed very much to a wider knowledge of the region of Arolla in the Valais. This collection of the Swiss-chalets-inscriptions is obviously an unique one for the time, that it was written in. The quality of the photographs is also surprisingly good. Not in Perret (other titles). Image disp.
