‎Interesting guide for the Anglo-American tourist. The book includes large sections on the Engadine, the Valais is very well presented with chapters on the Glacier of Arolla & Rosegg, further he writes on smugglers, catastrophes, the doctoress of Hérémence, dinners, a bear hunt (p. 156) guides and mountain climbers. A Chapter on Gruyère as well as Victor Tissot was the first curator of the local museum there, the ‘Gruyère Museum’ in Bulle (Canton of Fribourg). Still a passionate book to read. Neate T51. (with remarque: Chapter on mountain climbing and glaciers). Image disp.‎
