Publié pour la première fois à Cologne en 1604, 1602 pour la planche 54, (=1604),date indiquée a la planche 76,quelques-unes avec monogramme ou initiales,bon etat.
Volume IN8 oblong.Reliure demi chagrin rouge à coins,posterieure (XIXe s .) dos à 5 nerfs,titré CRISPIN VAN DE PASSE.Premier tirage, très rare, de cette suite de Crispin de Passe le vieux,sans titre, une des suites les plus rares et les plus précieuses illustrant les Métamorphoses d'Ovide.Franken dans son ouvrage sur Crispin de Passe (n° 1338 p. 253-255) n'indique que 103 planches pour ce premier tirage.Dimension de chaque :130 x 85 mm environ.Publié pour la première fois à Cologne en 1604,Planches gravées sur cuivre par Crispin de Passe dont la plupart ne sont pas signées, quelques-unes avec monogramme ou initiales. Bon état général, bon tirage bien noir.Crispin de Passe l'Ancien, également Crispijn van de Passe, né à Arnemuiden en 1564 et mort à Utrecht en mars 1637, est un dessinateur, graveur, imprimeur et éditeur néerlandais.Les planches 34 et 35 sont montées sur un papier different (XIXe s.) et ont des petits manques en coins;la planche 51 est sans texte et un manque.The Latin verses as well as on 38 other prints are engraved in a calligraphic hand, characteristic of Matthias Quad. These prints have usually also the name of the designer (Maarten de Vos or Crispijn de Passe). In October 1604, though, Quad had to leave Cologne, and the remainder of the series was probably engraved after his departure.Latin text on verso.
