‎In 16. Dim. 16x11,5 cm. Pp. 104, 107, 253. Interessante raccolta di tre volumi editi a Pisa nel 1808 e 1821, una raccolta di opere di Vincenzo Monti (1754-1828). Il primo volume contiene il primo tomo del 1808 e, legato insieme a quest'ultimo, un'altro tomo privo di frontespizio ma del 1821. Nel tomo del 1808 è presente la nota opera antirivoluzionaria dedicata alla morte di Ugo Bassville "In morte di Ugo Bass-ville". Ugo Bassville si recò a Roma con l'incarico di negoziare la riapertura delle relazioni diplomatiche fra la corte pontificia e il governo rivoluzionario di Parigi ma sfortunatamente durante il tragitto venne assalito dal popolo romano e ferito mortalmente a sassate. Monti decise di scrivere quest'opera per giustificare in qualche modo l'accaduto: immagina che l'anima del morto condanni gli orrori della Rivoluzione Francese. L'opera venne pubblicata per la prima volta totalmente anonima nel 1793 a fascicoli che uscirono in periodi differenti, lo stesso anno venne pubblicata la seconda edizione Romana e una lombarda. Nello stesso tomo alcuni sonetti. Nel secondo tomo del 1821 la tragedia Aristodemo. Il secondo volume contiene il tomo terzo del 1821 stampato sempre a Pisa presso Niccolò Capurro e contiene le tragedie Caio Gracco e Galeotto Manfredi. L'edizione completa del 1808 comprendeva due volumi, mentre quella del 1821 tre volumi. Opere complete di tutte le pagine. In buone condizioni. Raro, alto valore Copertina morbida coeva in buone condizioni generali con lievi usure e parti mancanti ai margini e dorso; copertine staccate dal corpo del libro. Legatura in discrete condizioni con rotture. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con rare fioriture. In barbe. Interesting collection of three tomes published in Pisa in 1808 and 1821, a colelction of works by Vincenzo Monti (1754-1828).<BR>The first volume contains the first tome of 1808 and, bound together with this last one, another tome without title page but of 1821. In the tome of 1808 there is the anti-revolutionary work dedicated to the death of Ugo Bassville written by Vincenzo Monti (1754-1828). Ugo Bassville went in Rome with the charge to negotiate the reopening of the diplomatic relations among the papal court and the revolutionary government of Paris. Unfortunately he was killed by roman inhabitants. Monti decided to write this work to justify the happening: he imagines that the soul of Bassville condamns the horrors of french revolution. The work was published for the first time totally anonymous in 1793 in pamphlets published in different periods, the same year was published the second roman edition and another edition. In the same tome some sonnets. In the second tome of 1821 the tragedy Aristodemo.
