L'opera è composta da quattro volumi pubblicati tra il 1928 ed il 1932 ed è completa. Il primo riguarda il Medioevo, il secondo ed il terzo il Rinascimento ed il quarto L'età moderna. L'autore analizza la storia della letteratura italiana dagli albori fino all'inizio del XX secolo. All'interno una vastissima ed importante iconografia impreziosisce il testo con numerose planches, foto ed illustrazioni. Opera importante e ancora oggi validissima. In ottime condizioni interne. Copertina in tela editoriale in mediocri condizioni generali con usure e parti mancanti ai margini e dorso; piatti in parte staccati e rotture alle cerniere. Legatura in buone condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in ottime condizioni con rare fioriture. The work is made up of four volumes published between 1928 and 1932 and it is complete. The first one relates Middle Age, the second and third one the Rinascimento period and the fourth one the Modern Age. The author analyzes the history of italian litterature from the beginnning until the first years of the XX century. Insdie a wide and important iconography unrich the texts with planches, photoes and illustrations. Important work very valid also today. In very good internal conditions Cloth editorial cover in poor general conditions with wearings and missing parts in the edges and spine; plates partially detached and cracks in hidges. Binding in good conditions. Inside pages are in very good conditions with occasional foxings.

"Gerolamo Tiraboschi passò nel 1770 a reggere la Biblioteca Estense. La sua opera maggiore fu la "Storia della Letteratura Italiana" (la seconda edizione ampliata è quella che fa testo e fu pubblicata dal 1787 al 1793). Napoli, 1777-1786. 4to. 13 contemporary full vellum (italian), title- and tomelabels gilt and in 2 colours. 3 volumes with parts of the vellum missing from front and back covers. Some overall yellowing to pages, a few quires browned, but no major flaws. All volumes with engraved titlepages.
From 1770 Girolamo Tiraboschi (1731-1794) was the head of Biblioteca Estense in Modena. During the following 11 years he worked on his ""Storia della letteratura italiana"". A work with great influence and today considered a major work in 18th. century philology. This being a complete set including the register to the whole work.
