In 16. Dim. 18,5x12 cm. Pp. 428. Edizione senza data ma della fine del XIX secolo di questa nota opera del politico e scrittore francese Saint-Marc Girardin (1801-1873). L'opera, pubblicata tra il 1843 ed il 1863 è considerata il suo capolavoro. Si tratta di una serie di lezioni nelle quali egli esamina le passioni discutendo il modo nel quale sono trattate nei drammi antichi e moderni. Sostanzialmente è una difesa degli antichi contro i moderni. Siamo purtroppo in possesso solo del secondo tomo. Firma in copertina. Brossura editoriale in cattive condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini; dorso e piatti staccati. Legatura quasi assente. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con rare fioriture. Not dated edition but of the end of the XIX century of this famous work by the french politician and writer Saint-Marc Girardin (1801-1873). The work, published between 1843 and 1863 is considered his masterpiece. It is a series of lessons in which he examinates the passions as they are treated in ancient and modern dramas. Substantially is a defence of ancient people against modern people. Unfortunately we only have the second tome. Signature in the cover. Editorial cover in bad general conditions slightly worn in the edges; spine and plates detached. Binding almost missing. Inside pages are in good conditions with occasional foxings.
