Letteraria mensile. Roma, 1919-1923. In-8 p., 4 volumi, cartonato coevo, titolo oro su tassello al dorso, conserv. brossure orig. Di questo celebrato periodico offriamo "tutto il pubblicato", dall'aprile 1919 (Anno I, n. 1) al dicembre 1923: complessivamente 44 numeri in 34 fascicoli.La rivista venne sospesa fra il dicembre 1922 e il novembre 1923 e sull'ultimo fascicolo si legge: "Anno IV, Numero Straordinario, dicembre 1923". "La Ronda" - che si pone tra le riviste letterarie più importanti del secolo - fu diretta fino all'aprile 1920 da un comitato formato da Bacchelli, Baldini, Barilli, Cardarelli, Cecchi, Montano, Saffi; poi da Cardarelli e Saffi. Nacque con l'intento di essere letteraria, in polemica contro ogni avanguardia, con una ricerca dello stile che proponeva in Leopardi prosatore il modello di riferimento.. Delle particolari iniziative vanno ricordate: Il testamento letterario di Giacomo Leopardi - Pensieri dello Zibaldone scelti, annotati e ordinati in VI capitoli da La Ronda (mar.-apr.-mag. 1921); una discussione intorno al Pascoli, provocata dal giudizio riduttivo di Benedetto Croce, cui il periodico sostanzialmente si associa (cfr. nov. e dic. 1919, con interventi di Cecchi, Bacchelli, Gargiulo, Angelini, Soffici, Pietrobono); la pubblicazione di Scritti inediti di C. Michelstaedter (mag. 1922)."La Ronda" non dimenticò le letterature straniere e pubblicò fra l'altro in traduzione italiana opere di Sorel, De Quincey, Yeats, Mallarmé, Morand, Mann, Shaw, Chesterton, ecc.Così Diz. Autori Italiani Contemporanei (Vallecchi),II, pp. 1160-1161. Lieve alone margin. su un volume altrimenti esemplare ben conservato.
