Rara pubblicazione del 1835 sul passaggio della Cometa di Halley nel 1835 di Baruffi, professore di filosofia all'Università di Torino. Lettera indirizzata al Conte Cesare della Chiesa di Benevello. Alla fine della pubblicazione una tavola ripiegata di astronomia. "(...) la cometografia e' una parte d'astronomia nascente, e tuttora un bambino che non morra' certo in culla, come disse gia' Franklin dell'invenzione delle macchine aereo-statiche, ma che puo' diventar gigante, ed essa non comincia propriamente che da quel grand'uomo d'Halley, e dalla nostra cometa, che tra 500 e piu' vedute dagli astronomi, e' del bel numero una, anzi la prima, il cui ritorno sia stato calcolato e predetto, giacche' Edmondo Halley avendola osservata nel 1682, s'accorse che gli elementi d'osservazione erano identici con quei del 1456, 1531, 1607, e riconobbe cosi' il periodo di 75 anni circa ed oso' il primo predirne il ritorno per il 1759..." Letter addressed to the Count Cesare of the Church of Benevello. At the end of the pamphlet a folded plate of astronomy.
