‎Rarissima prima edizione del 1760 di questo manuale sulla produzione della musica a cura del compositore e teorico Giorgio Antoniotto (1692-1776). Noto violinista e violloncellista ebbe modo di frequentare diverse Corti europee come Vienna, Parigi, Madrid e Lisbona. Durante la sua permanenza in Inghilterra pubblicò "L'arte armonica" scritto in italiano ma tradotto e pubblicato in inglese. La prefazione di questo volume venne tradotta da Samuel Pegge. In questo manuale Antoniotto propone un sistema di composizione utilizzando come basso fermo il primo e quinto grado della scala nella tonalità del pezzo, che si pone come guida della melodia. L'opera è composta da due volumi ed è completa. Il primo tomo è sulla teoria, il secondo tomo sono 62 tavole (una delle quali ripiegata) con schemi e partiture musicali. In ottime condizioni. Famous violin and violoncello player he frequented different european Courts as Vienna, Parigi, Madrid e Lisbona. During his permanence in England he published "L'arte armonica" written in italian but translated and published in english. The prefation of this volume was translated by Samuel Pegge. In this manuale Antoniotto proposes a compositional system using as immovable bass the first and fifth scale degrees in the tonality of the piece, which he terms principal and guide. Related to this immovable foundation, he generates a fundamental counterpoint for harmonic progression and as a foundation for the fundamental harmony which gives rise to the chordal structures and melodic contours of the music. The work is made up of two volumes bound together and it is complete. The first tome is about theory, the second tome contains 62 plates (one of them is folded) with schemes and scores.
