The work, together of the essay Ludovico di Breme "Intorno all'ingiustizia di alcuni giudizi letterari italiani" fixed the bearing of italian romanticism. They both took part the decision of Madame de Stael against the classicism, after she opened the debate with the publication of january 1816 "Sulla maniera e l'utilità delle traduzioni".
