Rara opera poetica di Gabriele Rossetti (1783-1854) poeta, critico letterario e patriota italiano. Appoggiò i moti liberali del 1820 e per questo motivo venne esiliato dall'Italia. Andò a vivere prima a Malta poi in Inghilterra. La gran parte delle sue opere vennero censurate ed inserite all'indice dei libri proibiti per le tematiche anticlericali e massoniche. Prima edizione italiana contraffatta stampata nel 1846, lo stesso anno della prima assoluta pubblicata a Parigi. (8)+411+(1).Scarce poetical work of Gabriele Rossetti (1783-1854) poet, litterary critic and italian patriot. He helps the liberal movements of 1820 and for this reason was exiliated from Italy. He went to Malta then in England. The greatest part of his works, as this one, were censored and put at the Index for the anti-clerical and freemasonry themes. It contains also an appendix. It is a study about Rome in the first half of XIX century, with an open criticize against the Catholic Church that according to the author blocked the development of Rome and Italy.
