‎Interessante opera del 1819, la documentazione completa del ritrovamento di un corpo sotto l'altare maggiore della basilica del Santo in Assisi, avvenuto il 7 novembre 1818, e del processo per l'identificazione di questo corpo nelle spoglie di S.Francesco. Nella seconda parte la Appendix documentorum, costituita da testimonianze, tutte in italiano, degli operai che praticarono lo scavo nello "scoglio", scoprendo sotto una grata di ferro il corpo, seguite da quelle dei medici, chirurghi e periti fisico-chimici, dei muratori, "periti ferrari" e architetti, per definire il tipo di materiali usati etc. Le testimonianze sono precedute dalla riproduzione di 78 documenti con brevi e bolle pontificie (la prima e' quella di Gregorio IX per la costruzione della basilica di Assisi del 29 apr.1228) e antiche testimonianze sulla traslazione del corpo di San Francesco etc. [Lozzi 233]. Tavola ripiegata più volte incisa da G. B. Cipriani su disegno di G. B. Mariani mostra l'altare con il luogo del ritrovamento. Insieme al volume una rarissima circolare di F. Giuseppe Maria de Bonis Ministro Generale datata Roma 2 agosto 1820 nella quale si annunciava la conferma del riconoscimento delle spoglie di San Francesco. Viene annunciato nel documento che a breve avrebbero stabilito una data per l'annuncio ufficiale che sarebbe poi avvenuto il 5 settembre 1820 con l'annuncio di Papa Pio VII. In buone condizioni. Copertina morbida moderna con dorso rinforzato con titolo manoscrito su etichetta al piatto anteriore in buone condizioni con lievi usure marginali. Legatura in buone condizioni. Pagine in buone condizioni generali con fioriture e lievi gore d'umidità marginali. In the second part the Appendix documentorum, constituted by testimonies in italian languages of the workers who found the body, physician, surgeons and architects to definite the type of materials used etc. The testimonies are precedeed by the reproduction of 78 documents with briefs and bolle (the first one is that of Gregorio IX for the construction of the basilica of Assisi of 29 apr.1228) and antique testimoies about the traslation of the body of Saint Francesco etc. [Lozzi 233]. Giuseppe Maria de Bonis Ministro Generale dated Rome 2nd of august 1820 with the announciation of the confirm of acknowledgement of the body of San Francesco. In the document there is the decision of a brief announcement to confirm the real identity of the body of Saint Francis. This announcement wold be made the 5th of september 1820 by the Pope Pio VII.
