Les réponses à lEnquete. sont disposées dans ce volume selon leur ordre chronologique (F.T. Marinetti, directeur de Poesia). Gli interventi del sondaggio (inchiesta sul verso libero, che la rivista Poesia lancia nel 1905, prendendo lo spunto dalle innovazioni poetiche bandite in Francia da Kahn), escono nel volume Enquete internationale... Le risposte sono numerose (da Kahn e Verhaeren, a Arturo Colautti, DAnnunzio, Pascoli, che indica nellendecasillabo sciolto lestremo limite praticabile, Capuana, che si vanta dessere stato un precursore nelluso dei semiritmi). Intorno alla discussione ed allombra della rivista si raccoglie la prima pattuglia poetica su cui Marinetti potrà contare nel fare decollare il futurismo: Paolo Buzzi, Federico De Maria, Enrico Cavacchioli, Corrado Govoni, Libero Altomare, Aldo Palazzeschi, Enrico Cardile (Cfr.
