Lipsae Apud Jacobum Schuster 1721 Première édition. Très bel exemplaire complet de cette monographie sur les eaux chaudes et la chaleur chez les anciens. 2 planches. Le frontispice présente une belle gravure de thermes romains. Une seconde planche dépliante (en face de la page 52) montre des récipients d'eau. Largement consacré aux thermes et à la conservation de la chaleur dans l'Antiquité, avec une partie également consacrée à la Mercuriale. En excellent état. Demi-cuir de l'époque sur cartons mouchetés. Cuir en bon état, légèrement frotté. Décoration dorée au dos. L'étiquette est usée. L'intérieur du livre est en très bon état. Les pages de garde sont plus sombres. Autrement, le livre est propre et bien rangé, avec juste un peu de noircissement. Texte en latin. [10], 96 pages. 175 x 100 mm. First edition. Very nice, complete copy of this monograph on hot waters and heat amongst the ancients. Two plates. The frontispiece shows a beautiful engraving of the Roman baths. A second, folding plate (opposite page 52) showing water containers. Largely dedicated to the baths and the conservation of heat among the ancients, a part also dedicated to Mercuriale. In excellent condition. Contemporary half leather over mottled boards. Leather is in good, slightly rubbed condition. Gilt decoration to the spine. Label has worn away. Inside the book is in very good condition. Darkening / offsetting on the end papers. Otherwise clean and tidy throughout with just a touch of darkening. Text in Latin.
