L'istituto venne fondato nel 1879 da Massimiliano Massimo (1849-1911) figlio del Principe Vittorio Emanuele. L'istituto sorse all'interno del palazzo di famiglia Villa Peretti Montalto e divenne scuola elementare e liceo privato Testo e disegni a cura di Luigi Biacchi, Luigi Montresor, Giovanni Poli e degli ex allievi Ernesto Rinaldi, Diego Angeli, Achille Bertini Calosso, Mario Cingolani, Renzo Cinotti, Auro D'Alba, Silvio D'Amico, Ferdianndo D'Ardia Caracciolo, Giovanni Faure, Arnaldo Frateili, Enzo Frateili, Saverio Kambo, Nicola Lardi, Giuseppe Massaruti, Federico Mastrigli, Roberto Paribeni, Costantino Parisi, Raffaello Santarelli. All'interno parte dedicata al fondatore, gite scolastiche (Ostia, Vesuvio, Genova), insegnanti, Inno, teatro, la guerra, Lourdes ecc... Numerose foto d'epoca. In buone condizioni.
