Interessante raccolta di due opere di Theophile de Bordeu (1722-1776) medico alla Royal Infirmary a Versailles e della Contessa du Barry, grande amico di Diderot. La prima è l'edizione originale di quella che è considerata una delle più importanti opere nel campo della storia cellulare. Beuret descrive tessuti connettivi sotto il nome di tessuto mucoso mostrando il loro ruolo negli scambi, nel fenomeno della nutrizione ed equilibrio meccanico degli organi e tessuti. L'opera segue le sue prime ricerche sulle malattie croniche (1775) nelle quali espose l'idea di secrezione interna con l'ipotesi che ogni organo, tessuto e cellula scarica nel sangue prodotti che influenzano altre parti del corpo. La seconda è uno studio minore, l'influenza delle acque di Bareges e del mercurio nei tumori ghiandolari. Collazionato e completo. Raro, solo tre copie censite su ICCU. In discrete condizioni. Copertina in piena pelle coeva a cinque nervi con titolo e decorazioni in oro al dorso in discrete condizioni generali con usure e parti mancanti ai margini e dorso. Legatura in discrete condizioni con qualche rottura. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture. Gora d'umidità al margine inferiore. The first one is the original edition of one of the most important work in the field of cell history. Beuret describes connective tissues under the name of mucous tissue showing its role in exchanges, phenomena of nutrition and mechanical balance of organs and tissues. The work follows his earlier researches about chronical deseases (1775) in which shows the idea of internal secretion with the hypothesis that each organ, tissue and cell discharges in blood products that influence other parts of the body. The second one is a lesser study, the influence of waters of Bareges and mercury in gland cancer. Collationed and complete. Scarce, only three copy in ICCU. In fair conditions. Full leather coeval cover with five nerfs and golden title and decorations in the spine in fair general conditions with wearings and missing parts in the edges and spine. Binding in fair conditions with some cracks. Inside pages are in good conditions with foxings. Humidity stain in the lower edge.
