‎ London: Boys Own Paper Office 1892-1893. issues no. 716 October 1st, 1892 to no. 768, Saturday September 30th. 1893. 29 by 21 cms. xii+838 pp. illustrated with 8 coloured plates, some tissue guarded and others folded, as well as many illustrations in the text. Red pictorial boards black decoration and gilt titling, one folding plate worn along an edge, a good copy. The annual never included the Christmas or Summer special issues. Contents include, "Rodolphe de Gortz or the Castle of the Carpathians", by Jules Verne, "Unseen Depths A Story of Plantation Life in Ceylon", by David Ker, "The Smugglers Beacon" by Henry Frith," by A. R. Hope, "Tom Dick and Harry A School Story," by Talbot Baines Reed, "The Silver Whistle by Rev. A.N. Malan " "The Merry Swiss Boots by A. R. Hope, "Afloat in a Volcano A Story of the Pacific Ocean", by David Ker, the Banjo and how to play it, Choir Schools, Boy Life in Australia, How to make electric bells and how to make a Telephone.and numerous others. The Verne was first published in Paris in 1892 and in England in 1893, the illustrations used are from the French edition. It was one of 16 of his stories published in the paper. The BOP was founded in 1879 and was the most popular childrens magazine ever issued in the UK. The Annuals still provide a great read for "boys" of any age‎
