The International Exhibition Press in Cologne in 1928 was held in the capital Pavilion of States the USSR did not build a temporary pavilion at that time. It was decided to invite the artists Lissitzky and Rabinovich to decorate the exposition. Lissitzky succeeded in radically transforming the pseudo-classical facade of the building by placing three-dimensional letters USSR glowing at night in each of the four arches. The exhibits were dominated by constructions specially composed by the artist, original mechanical attractions: Star, Working Correspondent, Red Army, Transmission.
