‎Duaci [Douai], apud Gerardum Patté, sub signo Missalis Aurei 1629 [8] + 684 + [20] pp., with engraved vignette (Estius' portrait) on title page, with engraved vignette (coat of arms of Franciscus Vanderburch archbishop of Cambrai) on top of page with dedication, engraved printer's device on verso of final page, with ornamental woodcut head- and tailpieces and initials, 2nd edition ("Secunda editio, ex ipsius authoris scriptis, plurimum aucta, in qua quid praestitum sit, praefatio ad Lectorem docebit"), folio (36x24cm.), contemporary typically Flemish full-leather blind-tooled binding with 5 raised bands, front joint split at ends for 7cm. each, corners bumped and slightly damaged, few stains on covers, text in Latin, text printed in 2 columns, text framed by a double-ruled border on each page, text and interior clean and with only few foxing and light browning of paper, old ink inscription in upper margin of title page erased, good condition, [ESTIUS Giulielmus, ca. 1542 Gorcum - 1613 Douai, professor of theology and philosophy at the universities of Louvain and Douai, famous for his publication "Historiae martyrum Gorcomiensium". His "Annotationes" was first published posthumously in 1621. This copy is a second edition (1629)], R96565‎
