Klauber, engraved coat of arms on title page, 34x26cm., contemporary red leather binding, gilt border around covers and inner covers, inner covers covered with light blue satin with gilt border, all edges gilt, some wear and rubbing, few minor occasional foxing, printed on Montgolfier d'Annonay vellum paper, text in Latin, this edition is dedicated by Pierre-François Didot to Etienne-Charles de Loménie de Brienne (bishop of Sens), ex-libris tipped in on verso of title page, probably an edition limited to 200 copies [cfr. De Backer (Essai bibliographique sur le livre De Imitatione Christi): "tiré à 200 exempl. dont une grande partie a été gâtée ou moisie au satinage [..] Le texte est celui de Valart"], R119648
