First edition of a very popular emblem book which went through many editions in Latin, Dutch , Spanish & French. The frontispiece was designed by Rubens and the 38 copperplates by Cornelis Galle. Very fine crisp copy. Landwehr N°271. Praz 361.(our copy without a halftitle, this half title contains only the three words; Regia via crucis)."
