The book opens with a dedication of the author to Louis XIV, further he uses also the pseud. Theandro Bugnotio. Vol. 1 is a re-edition of John Barclay's text with notes by Bugnot. Vol 2 is the continuation of Barclay's Argenis in three parts by Bugnot. It is the only edition ! The book is presented as a adventure- and travel novel but contains covert political content and was explicitly written as a continuation of Argenis. Very nice set.
