Title [2] not in Theux de Montjardin (no bibliographical reference found. The first title opens with a commentary on ''Le Diable Hermite'' (pp 7) which can be firmly attributed to Saumery.auteur of the famous ''Les Délices du Pays de Liège (see Cioranescu 36327). We are unable to identify the auteur of boh texts. Provenance. The previous owner bought the book in 1982 at the Lilies in Weedon from antiquarian dealer Peter Eaton. He runned in those days the largest antiquarian bookshop of the UK in an impressive manor house on a large estate, served by e.g. a butler. He never missed the opportunity to proclaim his extreme socialist ideas, a fore-runner of what the French used to call a 'Caviar-socialist'. (printed receipt with manuscript annotations inserted)..
