Washington, 1225 Conn. Avenue, s.d. (march 1915-1916 ?), folded card (15 x 12,5 cm), finely preserved. Eleonor Mabel Sarton (1878 - 1950) was the wife of Georges Sarton (history of science writer) . The couple fled Belgium at the beginning of WWI (1914). She was an artist-designer and tried to set up a business in Washington. She explicitly refers in the invitation card to the Brussels design house of ''L'Art Décoratif'' . The card is in a style reminiscent of Charles Macintosh, in between Art Nouveau and Art Deco..
