Each volume contains the essays and reproductions of 12 artists. Their names are listed on the spines of the volumes. Each essay is illustrated with b/w text-ills, full page photo engravings and a total of 27 original engravings, these etchings are works of graphic art in themselves and constitute very good examples of the art of engraving in Holland at the end of the 19th century. Arntzen & Rainwater lists the English edition : M 427 . We offer here the rare complete Dutch edition (boek in het Nederlands).
