Paris, s.d. (ca. 1920), format in-4°, 27,5 x 22,5 cm, (4) nn pp (pricelist) + 22 pp (cover included)(illustrations). Bound in modern fancy paper covered boards. Very rare trade catalogue of the Parisian engraver P. Bearel who produced all sorts of iron decoration tools to be used to gilt bookbindings: lozanges, palmettes, mandorlas, initials, etc. In all nearly 1000 different tools are depicted. From the library of the book historian B. Rousseeuw who used this catalogue to identifiy some irons from this catalogue which were used by the Antwerp master bookbinder Laurent Peeters. (Note loosely inserted) Good copy allthough the illustrations leaves are printed on a rather poor paper quality and some leaves slightly soiled.
