De Wildeman of the botanical studies made by the ''Compagnie du Kasai'' at the beginning of the 20th c. The company was seeking to exploit the rich (tropical) Kasai region for the cultivation of e.g. rubber producing trees, coffee, tobacco, fibre plants...cotton....With information on the early estabishments (the Lacourt plantation, the Dima farm. Some chapters are devoted to means of fighting tropical diseases. Rare, and very nice copy.‎
