".: Amsterodami ( sic) (probably Lyon or Caen), apud I. Ionssonius (sic) (meant to be I. Iansonius), CIC IC LXVIX ( sic) ( probably 1669). In-12°, 11 x 7,5 cm, (16)nn pp + 363 pp + (36)nn pp (index); separate title + 79 pp + (4)nn pp (index for second part). Bound in contemporary supple vellum. Manuscript ex libris on fly leaf ; ''Petrus Collinet rhetor.''.Binding a bit soiled Some faint waterstains throughout; but still a very good copy. Rare edition of Torsellini's Historiarum with the continuation up till 1658 by the French jesuit Philippe Briet (who uses the anagram P. Tibero). Unkown to Worldcat nor in De Backer Sommervogel. Sommervogel cites (Vol. II, col. 158) three similar editions , with French publication adresses, and dated 1658, also pagination different from our edition. Some of these works were banned by the Parliament of Rouen following a list published in 1762. The Amsterdam imprint adress is certainly fictituous."
