" Antwerpen,Theodorus Gallaeus in aes incidit ; Philippus Gallaeus excudit. 1598, in-4°, 26,5 x 20,5 cm, (32) nn pp, with engraved title and 13 (sic - announced 12) full page copper engravings, each with 1 pp of text. with 4 pp text as introduction. Printed on strong paper with uncut margins. The margins are somewhat dustsoiled and there exists some staining throughout the work, 10 out of 13 portraits are flawless and stainless. The three other have a faint stain in the lower margin. On the whole still a very acceptatble copy of a rare book and portrait collection. Bound in modern boards, kept in a linen covered slipcase. The text of this work was printed by Plantin-Moretus (see Imhof G.9) and is probably by Andreas Schotus. Pettegree 12823. USTC 402426.
